Miabelle MacAllister

Title: Summoning

Photoshop, A3 size

This is a picture of one of my characters, who summons the undead. She’s standing at the entrance to the Underworld, her glowy scythe in hand as she calls the spirits to rise. There’s a look of sadness on her face, as if she doesn’t want to do whatever she’s doing, and as if she’s having doubts of her power. Originally there were supposed to be ghosts lurking around, whispering secrets into her ear. I got rid of that to make this feel more lonely, though I’m not sure that worked.

Character Sketches/Expression Sheet

Originally designed for an idea I had, Miabelle was meant to be the stereotypical damsel-in-distress. But then somehow, she ended up as a cleric/healer kind of character, but then I decided that I didn’t quite like meek women who just ended up healing and playing defensive and then she turned into a scythe-weilding princess of doom. Did I mention that scythe is magic? Yeah. She also has an upbeat, no-nonsense personality and would willingly punch the living daylights out of anyone who opposes her, but yet maintains a sense of childishness and naivete. I tried to actually model her design after a butterfly.
